Tutte le polemiche, i dibattiti, le affermazioni ed il fomento dietro l’ultima edizione del World Press Photo 2014, che ha dato la vittoria alla bellissima immagine di Paul Hansen (molti di voi la ricorderanno, parliamo di questa foto), sono serviti a qualcosa.

Infatti, Gary Knight (Gary Knight è un fotografo, il fondatore del Programma per Narrative & Documentary Practice presso la Tufts University Institute per la leadership globale, co-fondatore dell’agenzia fotografica VII e il Progetto GroundTruth. Divide il suo tempo tra il mondo accademico e progetti fotografici a lungo termine. Cavaliere è stato in precedenza membro della giuria nel 2004 e 2006 Foto Concorsi e presieduto la giuria nel 2008. Potete leggere la sua biografia completa qui: http://www.worldpressphoto.org/gary-knight), ha rifrelluto molto su tutto il fomento di cui sopra arrivando a delle considerazioni:

Rules and procedures
The 2014 Photo Contest edition will include a number of changes. Michiel Munneke, Managing Director, World Press Photo, explains: “There has been a lot of discussion and widespread speculation regarding the permissible levels in post-processing of image files in the contest. We have evaluated the contest rules and protocols and examined how to create more transparency, and we have changed the procedures for examining the files during the judging. We will announce further details when the 2014 Photo Contest opens for entries later this year, but the bottom line is that we will need to be able to rely on the integrity and professionalism of the participating photographers.”

Attendiamo quindi l’apertura dei cancelli con ansia per vedere queste effettive modifiche del regolamento, fino a che punto riporteranno in luce la bravura del fotografo nello scattare tecnicamente una foto valida e lasciare per un attimo Photoshop nelle grinfie di avide menti dell’ADV e della moda.
